review of A Hat Full of Sky

the Tiffany Aching series continues to be my favorite witch books. Granny Weatherwax shows up again, and i even like her a little more than usual. i think this one was a little more heavy-handed than Wee Free Men, what with Granny more or less explaining The Point to Tiffany, but Tiffany figured out a lot of it herself, and maybe because this novel is directed at younger readers, it didn't feel unpleasantly heavy-handed to me. also, i think the Nac Mac Feegle were a bit superfluous in this one, but i like them, so i'll let that slide. (^_^)

Tiffany's still not fully my cup of tea

This is a good book, but it's certainly not my favourite Terry Pratchett book. Just like in the first Tiffany book, the Feegles are overused, to the point that they become annoying. Also, there is a very long (sometimes a tad boring) buildup, but the conclusion to the story seems really rushed. There are obvious flashes of brilliance and hints at what's to come, so I have high hopes for the next books in the Tiffany series, but this one is a bit wanting.
